Where in the magazine would your advert be located?
Different magazines have different ways of positioning advertisers. Some do it in groups of categories of business; for example, the gardeners would be together or the tradesmen would be together, etc.
However, what we do is we have an index at the back of the magazine that lists all the advertisers and what page they’re on, and then the advertisers are mixed up in the magazine randomly each month. We find this is the fairest way of giving everyone a good slot. But also, more importantly, making it possible for readers and residents who receive the magazine to be able to find easily the exact people that they’re looking for in the magazine.
Obviously the only exception to this random positioning policy is the premium locations in the magazine, which are obviously fixed.
